I woke up at 4 this morning, pacing my halls like some sort of spectre… I had a dream that I was in New England red barn. There were large barn doors on either end. It was night and I was speaking with a man while standing in a pile of gold hay. I told him that I hoped he would see a wolf (it was me wishing him a good omen.) and then behind me I heard movement. I went to the doorway and looked out in the darkness where I saw a black, long haired wolf and cub slipping away. I was excited. It was a good omen in my dreamland’s philosophy. I raced back to tell the nebulous male figure. “I saw a wolf! And it’s cub!!!” When I turned back to the doorway, the wolf and cub come to the threshold. They were faced in, trying to make their way through. The wolf had pricked up ears, it had small goat horns, and within those horns, it had long, velvet reindeer horns. I was equally excited and afraid of the wolf. It was welcome, but not INSIDE the red barn. Three birds stood in it’s way and kept the wolf from entering with its cub— a tall skinny chicken, a duck, and what might have been a goose or another chicken. The wolves left our barn and headed up to the chicken coop on the hill in front of the doorway. In the end, I tried to chase the two from shed. I didn’t leave the barn, though… Again, I was equally pleased to see and engage with them as i was afraid of what they would do if they were given free reign.
